German designer Valentin Loellmann has created this series of furniture called m.&mme. The series features long, elegant yet fragile legs that at first glance might remind you of the work of Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti.
And indeed Leollmann acknowledges the sculptural quality of his designs: ‘On the composition and treatment of materials in my work I am treating materials like living organisms […] A piece of wood is not mere material substance. in my creative vision and practice, it represents the opportunity to merge with other elements […] The fusion of the various components stamps the final work piece with its unique character.’
Each work is unique and reflects the variations that occur in the process of being shaped into existence. Expressive and gestural, these pieces have life-like qualities, as if they have the ability to walk away themselves.

Love it! It reminds me a lot of those elephants in the Dali’s paintings…
