Danish dome – Kristoffer Tejlgaard

I definitely think there should be more dome-shaped buildings. How cool is this? It looks like a space ship. Kristoffer Tejlgaard – a Danish architect – and engineer Henrik Almegaard came up with this plywood dome for the Roskilde Festival in Denmark this summer.

This geodesic dome (a shell structure based on a latticed network – like a football, by the way) is deconstructable. I love that the outside configuration looks radically different from the inside perspective. You would never guess that it’s made up of 240 hexagons.
