soak, dye in light – everyware

design, digital art

Soak, Dye in Light is a new interactive, tie-dye-tastic artwork by the South Korean creative computer group Everyware. To keep things simple, it’s an empty elastic canvas that, when touched, stretches and becomes suffused with digital ink or, to be more precise, gets projected with colours that replicate ink being absorbed by a canvas. This artwork allows visitors to make their own mark on the canvas, contributing to an ever changing, live-time artwork.

Everyware took influence from the traditional Korean practice of dying fabric with traditional materials, replacing ink with light and combining the artisinal with new media in an experience that is visually entrancing.
